Bio:It's that time of year when we all start to get a little more competitive on the Saturday morning Chaires ride. Since we are all hungry for a little glory, we will turn the Saturday ride into an unofficial, unsactioned, unscrupulous ride with points at three locations (we will use honor system, of course). The points winner for each ride has bragging rights. Then at the end of the year (or November whichever comes first) the rider with the most points is awarded the most coveted of all awards - The "GET A LIFE CUP"

We will post updates on this site with the current winners listed. If you are worthy, there may be a rider profile to highlight your awesomeness...and everyone will know that you should get a life.

How can you participate -
1. ride in the group with no attacks until Whitehouse Road, it's just poor manners to take off without any socializing (seriously, take off before Whitehouse and you get no points).
2. Compete for the first sprint at the entrance of the feed store just before
returning to 27 in waukeenah. Two points for first, one point for second.
3. Compete for the second sprint on Silo road. The finish is the yellow warning sign with the small red stop sign on it. Commonly referred to as a "stop ahead" sign. Don't stop there silly, win the sprint and then stop ahead. Two points for first, one point for second.
4. Win the final sprint on Whitehouse. The line is where the pavement changes. Cross it first and you get two points. Second gets 1 point.

What does this mean, if you win all three sprints you get six points. Also, you clearly need to get a life. In the event of a tie, here's how things are managed - in baseball, tie goes to the runner. In the Get A Life Cup, the nod goes to the junior. After that the order is as follows - women racers over master, masters over seniors, seniors over cat 5, cat 5 over cat 4, cat 4 over cat 3, cat 3 over cat 1-2.

Remember, this is for fun. All intersections should be handled with great care. Also, any time we cross 27, that's a nuetral zone. So refrain from attacks. We'll know who is the sweetest bicycle racer by how they finish at the identified sprints.

When you crush everybody with your superior skills, make sure all the well-wishers, gawkers and hangers-on know your name. You've earned the points and you may as well start boasting about how you need to get a life.

That's all there is to it. See you on Saturday morning beginning on March 17, 2007 at 8 am.
